West coast fields theorist and unholy combination of hiker and scatter plotter.

I’m a second-year PhD student at the University of Toronto who studies culture, work, and stratification. My work investigates how economic, cultural, and technological changes interact with the everyday stress, trust, control, values, and goal-pursuits of workers. Esoterically, I’m interested in how shifts in the resources workers pursue change the ways they pursue those resources.

Recent projects include writings on the prevalence of automation fears by self-reported status and occupation, changes in the relationship between meaningful work and age, and the sense of control for Canadian workers over the pandemic. See my website if you are interested in more detail.

I’m also currently the project director of the Toronto Work and Health project led by professor Scott Schieman. There I help organize national surveys and paper projects related to the job conditions, health, and values of American and Canadian workers.
